Sleeping in the Upper Room

Oct 19, 2025    Chad Rowan

Paul was preaching late into the night in the upper room. Yet even in the midst of power, a young man named Eutychus grew weary and fell asleep, falling from the window to his death. Like Eutychus, many today sit “half in and half out” of the church. They are lukewarm, distracted, and spiritually drowsy. Spiritual sleep doesn’t happen suddenly; it’s a gradual drifting from prayer, the Word, and passion for God. But when we fall, there is still hope. Paul ran to Eutychus and declared, “He’s alive!” The same revival power that raised Eutychus can awaken the sleeping church today.
